About

Test preparation, taken seriously

The Life in the UK Test sits in the way of two of the most significant milestones in a migrant's life — Indefinite Leave to Remain and British citizenship. Failing the test means an extra £50 fee, weeks of delay, and an unwelcome dent to your timeline.

We built PassTheUKTest because the existing study apps fall short in three ways. They are written for native English speakers, when most candidates are not. They offer shallow explanations, when adult learners benefit most from the why. And they treat the test as a quiz, when it is — for most of our users — a step toward a permanent home.

What we believe about study tools

Practice should look like the real exam. Same number of questions, same time limit, same single-attempt logic. Anything less leaves candidates underprepared for the real exam-day pressure.

Explanations matter more than scores. A score without context teaches nothing. We write detailed explanations for every question — referencing the official handbook, giving historical context, and naming the chapter so you know where to revise.

Audio matters for ESL learners. The test is in English; most candidates have at least B1 English, but reading speed varies. Audio narration is included for every question, not just premium ones.

Honest pricing, no dark patterns. No countdown timers on the pricing page. No fake "limited spots remaining". Refund within seven days if you don't find it useful. Cancel anytime in your settings.

Independent of the Home Office

We are not affiliated with the UK Home Office or HM Government. The official test is operated by the Home Office; we are a separate study aid. The official source material is Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents (3rd Edition, 2013), available from TSO Shop. Our questions are modelled on the style of the official test but are written independently.
